NEO-NAZIS desecrated some 15 Jewish tombs in a
Rome cemetery ovemight, leaving swastikas and anger in their wake, the
Jewish community here said on Sunday.

The vandals had wrenched off Stars of David from tombs in the Jewish
section of the Prima Porta cemetery in central Rome, and left one tomb
encircled by wires carrying swastikas.

The vandals had also torn off name plates for recently buried dead
awaiting tombstones, and left behind a sign saying, Arbeit macht frei
(Works makes free), the same words that hung at the entrance to the Nazi
concentration camp at Auschwitz.

On Sunday afternoon, several hundred people celebrated the kaddish, the
Jewish prayer for the dead, by the desecrated tombs. The Jewish
community deplored the "vile act perpetrated by neo-Nazis".

NOTE:
The religious identity of the desecrators is not identified. However,
what happens when Hindus protest, even legitimately.
