is Gowda's way of getting back at Kesri. The Congress president is known to
be close to the Jains. Gowda recalls how, soon after his government fell,
two senior BCCL officials call on him and promised to make him India's next
President. "I know who sent them here I am not a fool," he says. He has now
taken the case to the public, revealing in a letter to a national daily
that he had been approached by M.D. Nalapat, senior editor (coordination),
Times of India, on matters relating to the case.
