Overseas Friends BJP strongly condemns the recent misadventure of
Pakistan in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan undertook
an exercise of massive infiltration of army regulars and occupying
strategic areas with an aim of altering LOC, engaging in terrorist
activities and cutting off the Ladakh from rest of the State. This is
an outright aggression and blatant violation of Shimla Agreement and
Lahore Declaration. It is shame that when India's Prime Minister was
taking a Bus journey to Pakistan with the message of peace,
friendship, harmony and love, Pakistan was making preparations to
commit an aggression against India. This is a total betrayal of the
India's trust, and rejection of the hand of the friendship extended by
Prime Minister Vajpayee. India has rightly and justifiably launched
major military operation including air-strikes.
The entire NRI community and OFBJP whole heartedly support India's
action to flush out the Pakistani infiltrators. We also condemn in the
strongest words the evil designs of Pakistan. It is now clear that
Pakistan is not interested in peaceful resolution and bilateral
negotiation to solve problems between the two countries. It
understands the language of war only rather than talks. We urge GOI to
take whatever steps necessary to teach a lasting lesson to
incorrigible, hypocritical, and double speaking Pakistani leaders. It
is time that India should launch a massive operation to destroy all
the training camps of the infiltrators in PoK.
Today in the entire international community Pakistan is totally
isolated. No country including its traditional allies are supporting
or buying Pakistan's view point in the present crisis. USA has
repeatedly asked Pakistan to withdraw its troops from Indian side, and
then resolve the issue by bilateral discussions. UNO does not wish to
intervene. China remains neutral. To-date India has scored its biggest
diplomatic victory over Pakistan, who is considered an irresponsible,
war-mongering, and terrorist country. On the other hand India has
proved her credentials as sincere and serious about its intentions of
developing friendly relations with Pakistan. A major share to this
change in the stand of western countries is attributed to the
initiative of Vajpayee in taking a bus journey to Lahore.
OFBJP congratulates India's political and military leadership for
handling the situation very deftly, swiftly, and achieving major
successes in pushing the intruders behind the LOC. Words cannot
convey our feelings of our deep gratitude towards the armed forces who
have demonstrated highest degree of bravery. In many heroic fights,
many soldiers sacrificed their lives for the cause of the Motherland.
We most sincerely offer our salutations to these martyrs. OFBJP has
been mobilizing its resources and encouraging people to send funds for
the families of those soldiers affected on the battle-field.
It is a matter of great relief and gratitude towards the God almighty
that Prime Minister Vajpayee remained unharmed during his recent visit
of the battle front, when in a most cowardice manner Pakistani army
tried to harm him by shelling the venue of his meeting in Kargil.
OFBJP is fully confident that under the present leadership India will
emerge victorious and the evil designs of Pakistan will be foiled
totally, and we hope that spirit of Lahore Bus yatra will be revived
and both countries will live in peace and harmony.
