Over the weekend, Gary Kenzer, the Executive Director of Magen David Adom, received an email from a personal friend from Magen David Adom in Israel. Many of you who are subscribers to our email list have read information written about this special person, Yochai, in recent emails.

He wrote the following upon arriving home after a long night involved in the aftermath of the Tel Aviv suicide bombing. His words and emotions are very strong. After receiving his approval, we are now sharing his message. We are providing this email as we received it from Yochai.

helo my friend,

i m writing to u with teers in my eyes. i am a volunteer in MDA for 11 years and i have seen it all, i have been to terror attacks in the past but i have never seen somthng like that. gary, it was like the angel of death and his friends had decided to go and have a blood bath, calling all vempires in the neighborhood.

i got there and saw piles of dead pepole. their bodies sliced and diced from their chest and above, young kids who did nothing to anyone and just wanted to party on friday night.

inicent kids masikered by a murderer who was sent ther by a master murderer.

gary, we stood there, about 70 meters from the gate where the lake of blood was. suddenly, the wind brought the smell which i know so well, the smell of blood. my nose is so sensitive to this smell so i can smell it when i get to a room where somone spelt a little blood.  u can imagine how awfull was this wave of smell to me. that was the smell of death in present. angel of death came and won today.

the teers dont stop from trying to get out and i dont let them. it is hard for me to cry. u must understand: i realy have seen everything. i do not cry from others death. this time, aperantly, it is to much and to strong even for me, the great cinikan.

i have forign volunteers who need help because it is crazy for them and i cant give it to theme because i will start crying myself. it is so hard to be a hero all the time and "save the world". i want to have normal life like other people in other countrees. i want to be able to go with my sandals and not with my shoes. i want to be able to go out and throw the biper at home. i want to be able to walk in the streets with short pants on. all of that i canot do because i am on alert 24/7.

gary it is hard for us here. we r pushing it to the limits. i was in 4 diferant multy casualties incidents in the last 4 weeks! how much can a man stand? what is sader is that other people r in the same condition that i am. it is hard!!!

dont get me wrong: we will not give up! we will fight, but i think we shuld cry from time to time to ease our life and feelings. any way, i had to write that. thank u for reading,

yochai
