Jammu, November 28: Sixteen Pakistani
bunkers were destroyed in retaliatory shelling and firing by Indian troops
along Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector on Tuesday night, official
sources said on Wednesday.
Pakistan troops, across Poonch river,
resorted to heavy firing and shelling of mortars on the Indian positions
along LoC, the sources said. In the retaliatory action by the Indian troops,
sixteen bunkers, nine of which were high altitude bunkers fitted with heavy
weaponry and mortar guns, were damaged and a large number of casualties
were feared from across the border, the sources said.
Intermittent firing and shelling
of mortar also took place along LoC in Kerni, Krishna Gati, Mendhar, Laam,
Bhawani, Bhimbergali, Nousherah and Pallanwala area in Rajouri-Poonch sector,
from across the border, the sources said. Two Gujjars were injured in Pak
firing at Laam-Bhawanih areas of Rajouri and were hospitalised.
