A high alert has been sounded in
Ayodhya in view of reports that Pakistan-based terrorists organisations
might blow up the makeshift Ram Janmabhhomi temple to avenge the victory
of the BJP in Gujarat elections.
A high-power body of top police
officials under the chairmanship of Additional Director General of Police
(Security) RK Bhatia met Wednesday to review the situation.
Ayodhya has been handed over to
the newly formed Special Security Force.
More Rapid Security Force and Provincial
Armed Constabulary contingents have been rushed to Ayodhya.
There are reports that the ISI spies
and Al-Qaeda terrorists could create disturbances in Ayodhya. Al Qaeda
is the dreaded organisation of international terrorist Osama bin Laden,
whose agents are said to have entered India from Bangladesh.
Principal Home Secretary Pradeep
Kumar said that security has been beefed up in Ayodhya.
Director General of Police Radhey
Mohan Shukla said information had already been collected about some terrorist
modules and more information is likely.
The Sri Ram Janmabhhomi temple complex,
specially the Garb Griha (sanctum sanctorum) has been sanitized from security
point of view and is being heavily guarded.
Close circuit TVs have been installed.
Apart from routine frisking and intensive metal detector checks, the authorities
have banned vehicles near the temple at Ayodhya.
