It is understood that the Speaker
of LS Somnath Chatterjee has played an important role to prevent the arrest
of Central Coal and Mines Minister Shibu Soren.
When two days back, Soren had met
Somnath Chatterjee, the latter had given him complete cooperation to avoid
his arrest. According to Chatterjee's instructions, Soren has gone
to West Bengal. Soren has selected West Bengal, as he thought that since
there is rule of Communist party, he would be safe there.
Parliament Secretary yesterday issued
a circular for its security officers in which it is ordered that the Jharkhand
Police coming in the parliament area should not be allowed to come in.
Although the Parliament Secretary has full authority to issue such circular,
it is understood that it is now done to prevent the arrest of Soren. .
LS speaker Somnath Chatterjee today
also took a stand, which would help Soren. On the opposition demanding
a statement by the Prime Minister, Chatterjee immediately started question
hour. Since his bail application was to be heard today in the HC at Ranchi,
it was said that till that time at least, Somnath Chatterjee has fought
his case.
