The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate,
S. Narayana Kurup, will inquire into a complaint that the Thampanoor Circle
Inspector, Sharafuddin, sent a false message on the police wireless with
the intention of getting mediapersons arrested during the recent violent
incidents in front of the RSP(B) office here.
The complainant, Stephen Rozario,
president of the Niyama Sahaya Vedi, told the court that the Government
had failed to take action against the police officials who had kept seven
mediapersons in illegal custody for about five hours after giving a false
message to their superiors.
The false message was that mediapersons
were attacking and injuring police personnel. Apart from Mr. Sharafuddin,
five identifiable police constables were named as respondents in Mr. Rozario's
complaint.
