Dhaka, Bangladesh, Oct25, 2005: Gopal Chandra Barman (60) - A Hindu Priest of Noadhia Kali Mandir at Shibpur P.S. of Narsingdi District of Bangladesh murdered. Dead Body traced in the river three days after kidnapping on 18th October. The Deity (Murthi) of the Kali Mandir worth Taka 10 million was stolen as well. ( Reports: The Daily "Ittefaq" dated 24th October, 2005).

The dead body of a Hindu Priest - Shri Gopal Chandra Barman aged about 60 of Noadhia Kali Mandir of Shibpur P.S.in Bangladesh traced in the river body tied with rope on Friday 21st of October, 2005 three days after his kidnapping. On the last Tuesday night (18th October,05) some perpetrators broke open the gate and lock of the Mandir, stolen the Bishnu Murthees. There after the Hindu Priest- Gopal Barman was untraced. On Friday last some people identified the mutilated dead body of Gopal Barman. It is reported that Gopal Barman - whole time worshipper had been worshipping the Mandir since 25 years. His native home is in the same village. The incident of such murder created sense of insecurity amongst the Hindus of the locality. Feroz Salauddin- Deputy Commissioner, Mir Rezaul Alam, Superintendent of Police, Narsinghdi and Abdur Rashid- O.C. of Shibpur Police station visited the place of occurrence. The news has also been published in the daily " Ittefaq" dated 24th of October, 2005.

HRCBM-Dhaka-Bangladesh talked with Mir Rezaul Alam - Supdt.of Police-Narsingdi last night . We also investigated the matter in details, visited the spot, talked with O.C. Shibpur P.S., local people, and took video statements of the local people and his relatives to-day - 25 October,2005. The Investigative Reports with pictures will follow soon.
