Even as he clarified his remarks on the Sohrabuddin
Sheikh encounter in his reply to the EC, Chief Minister Narendra Modi continued
with his references to Sohrabuddin, Afzal Guru and "Hindu terrorism".
Addressing a rally in Rajkot today, he said:
"Sohrabuddin ma avu shun hatu ke tame atla badha havatiya maro cho? (What
was so special about Sohrabuddin that you are making such a hue and cry?)"
On Afzal Guru, main accused in the Parliament
attack case, he said: "When the Sikh militants; who were awarded death
sentence for killing General A S Vaidya... the family's application for pardon
was rejected within an hour," he said, "then what do you see in
Afzal Guru that it takes such a long time?"
On the issue of fake encounters, he said:
"Malo japo cho encounter, encounter. Mare charcha karvi che ke kya rajya
ma kya encounter nu shun thayu. Tamare Modi nu political encounter karvu che.
(They have been chanting encounter, encounter, I want to have a debate over
encounters in other states. You want to do political encounter of Modi).
Calling the UPA government a Delhi Sultanate,
he said: "People of Gujarat will do the political encounter of the Congress."
