Dr Mrs Hilda Raja,
It is very strange for the Congress General
Secretary Mohsina Kidwai to state that for the first time in her 48 years
of public life the present discourse on terror, linking it to religion, 'has
made me feel like a Muslim'. Kidwai should turn the search light into the
party to which she belongs and find why such a piquant situation has risen.
It is her party which progessively under 'inclusive' development initiated
a whole gamut of divisive programs: separate budget for the Muslims, a ministry
for the Minorities, a survey on the status of the Muslims, an army head count
of the Muslims, separate Madrassas with the taxpayers money for the Muslim
children, its own Personal laws, the Haj subsidy on the taxpayers money to
guarantee the salvation of the Muslims etc. To top it all an unscientific,
unconstitutional Sanchar report to identify the Muslims as the lowest in the
economic and social rungs of society to justify the special treatment to pull
them out of the mire in which they are.
One would understand if the focus was on the
poorest of the poor irrespective of religion but why should a religion be
the criterion of the respondents? For all those appeasement strategies religion
can be used and is valid-but when it comes to terror then one must rise above
normal human understanding and stand by her side/and the UPA leaders and accept
the theory that terror has no religion. Can Kidwai just tell the ordinary
people why the terrorists are all from her community? .She a leader with a
public service record of 48 years is answerable - so is her leader Mrs Sonia
Gandhi. One cannot be selective.
Again when some goons attack Christians, damage
the Christian churches why point out at the Hindutuva-call it the saffron
brigade and blame those with such a religious ideology? According to her and
the UPA's theory terrorism has no religion - they must be goons, mad men.
We are not allowed to forget that Muslims must be given a preferential treatment
- but when they are engaged in terrorism we are told not to call them Muslims
for Islam is one of peace and love. All the religions stand for peace and
love-so we are told.
Only that today is in the name of religions
innocent blood is shed. It is not only the attack on Christians which are
'acts of shame' but the serial blasts-the continuous killing of innocent people
attending to their daily business of life, the spilling of blood on our streets
and roads are all heinous and acts of shame. Jammu and Kashmir is a singular
case-it was on the basis of a religious identity that ethnic cleansing was
undertaken. Where were the 'secular' leaders then?
The Prime Minister and Mrs Sonia Gandhi should
look back at the aftermath of the assassination of Mrs Indira Gandhi. Then
the Congress went raving and raging and indulging in a genocide pogrom butchering
thousands of Sikhs. Where the 'secular' leaders were then and where was Mohsina
Kidwai? Rajiv Gandhi even justified the genocide. Should we then think that
today suddenly the Congress leaders are enlightened?
The Congress party is the fountain head of
communalism, it has not abetted but vigorously promoted communalism. For selfish
political gains it created vote bank in the name of religion. It is time for
persons like Mohsina Kidwai and the party to which she belongs to accept this
harsh reality.
