Vedanta Bharati, a spiritual organisation,
has organised a mass chanting of Dashashloki, a composition of three stotras
by Adi Shankaracharya, on December 5 at Bangalore Palace Grounds.
The organisation's convenor Sridhar Bhat Ainakai
said about 2.5 lakh women from different sections of society, will congregate
at Tripuravasini wing of the Bangalore Palace Grounds and chant en masse three
compositions of Adi Shankaracharya.
"With lakhs of women participating in
the two-hour programme that starts at 4.30 pm, it would be a kind of vishwarupa
darshana (magnum opus) of mathru shakti (the power of motherhood)," Ainakai
said. The participants have already started practising the chanting of the
verses in about 1,500 centres throughout the city.
The objective of the programme is to bring
about awareness and transformation in society where every individual sheds
inferiority, hatred and arrogance. "The need of the hour is to make our
country spiritually strong, morally sound, ethically robust, and culturally
vibrant," he said.
