The Kerala Police said here on Wednesday that
all six Keralites among the 31 absconding operatives of jehadi terror groups
named in the dossiers released by the Union Home Ministry have been involved
in terror-related cases, including the Bangalore blast case, and are likely
to be staying abroad.
Though the police here have already reported
the six militants, all from Kannur district, as absconding, steps are being
taken to track them or collect information about their whereabouts in view
of the dossiers released by the Home Ministry about 31 Indian Mujahideen (IM)
and Jam-I-yyatul Ansarul Muslimeer (JIAM) operatives.
The six absconding youths are K.P. Sabir;
P.V. Muhammad Azhar; P.P. Yusuf ; Shafeeque ; P.A. Raysal ; and Muhammad Shameer.
Police sources said most of them were involved in the Bangalore blast case
and other terror-related cases and are absconding. Sabir is believed to be
a key figure of the IM, next to Thadiyantavide Nazir.
Sabir is also a co-accused in the case relating
to the plot to assassinate the former Chief Minister E.K. Nayanar and was
also involved in planting a bomb at the Coimbatore Press Club. Both Nazir
and Sabir are among those who established the terror network in the State.
Sabir is believed to have fled to Dubai.
