Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s clear message on reining in belligerent party leaders has not found takers with the police brass at Gonda. Or so it seems.

The SP Gonda instead of lauding his juniors for registering a case against a small-time SP functionary for creating ruckus, instead chose to suspend three cops for their temerity to act as per law. With the issue hotting up, none of the officers is now ready to come on record and speak on the issue.

As per reports, Ashok Kumar Gautam barged into Khorhansa police outpost (Gonda-Faizabad highway) of Kotwali circle in an inebriated state and misbehaved with the cops late on Saturday night. When the cops tried to lead him out of the outpost, the drunken SP worker tried to manhandle them.

When the news of Ashok Gautam being shooed away from the outpost for his chivalry came to the knowledge of local SP leader Arshad Khan, he rushed there accompanied by dozens of his associates. They showered expletives at the cops present there and threatened to get them suspended.
