Hasan Ali and Anjura Khan trafficked 2000 girls from rural areas of West Bengal and sold them, arrested by Police

One of the biggest rackets involved in trafficking of minor girls from rural areas of West Bengal has been busted by Delhi Police. Police arrested Hasan Ali and his associate Anjura Khan. The duo will be brought back to West Bengal in transit remand.

Investigation revealed that in past few years, this racket has trafficked and sold around 2000 girls from rural areas of South 24 Parganas district. To collect girls, they recruited agents in rural areas like Canning, Basanti, Jibantala and other areas of South 24 Parganas district.

According to police sources, the agents mainly targeted minor girls from poor families. The agents lured them with a promise of providing good jobs in Delhi and other states of North India. Then agents collected the girls and took them to Delhi. Then the agents sell the girls to Hasan Ali for Rs.5000(Five Thousands rupees) each.

Police said, Hasan Ali was the kingpin of the racket. He was arrested along with his associates Anjura Khan and Nizam Molla by Malviyanagar Police in New Delhi.

After collecting the girls from agents, Hasan Ali and Anjura Khan sold them to different prostituition rackets. Police said, till now the racket collected and sold more than two thousand girls.

Police said, Hasan Ali was the kingpin of the racket. He was arrested along with his associates Anjura Khan and Nizam Molla by Malviyanagar Police in New Delhi after Jibantala Police of South 24 Parganas district - that had been investigating the disappearance of a girl in 2012- alerted Mission Mukti Foundation.

Besides, Jibantala Police also arrested local agents, a couple, Atiar Molla and his wife Modina Molla. The couple confessed that they collected minor girls from different areas of South 24 Parganas district and sold them with a fixed rate of Rs. 5,000 for each girl.

The accused persons have been charged with criminal conspiracy, trafficking, prostituition, kidnapping and criminal intimidation.
