Noted writer-journalist Shahriar Kabir alleged yesterday that there was no security of his life since his release from jail on January 21.
Shahriar Kabir, acting President of the Committee for Annihilation of the Killers and Collaborators of 1971 popularly called Nirmul Committee, who was recently released from jail on a bail for six months said that he was living in a big prison now after his release from the Dhaka Central Jail on January 21. "I am feeling totally insecure as my daily activities are under surveillance", he said.
"Since my release on bail, the personnel of different intelligence agencies are following me. They are tapping my telephone and personal E-mail round the clock while all my letters are being censored", he told newsmen at the Jatiya Press Club.
"This government and its fundamentalist allies might kill me but I will not deviate from my path and ideals," he said.
Nirmul Committee leaders including National Professor Kabir Chowdhury, Barrister Shawkat Ali Khan, journalist Wahidul Huq, Kazi Mukul and Ferdousi Priyadarshini, were, among others, present at the press conference.
