RSS Chief K S Sudarshan has said the word "Hindu" was not linked with any religion and maintained that it stood for all those who considered India as their motherland.
"Since the word is not related to any religion, even Muslims and Christians living here can be considered Hindus," Sudarshan said while addressing a Hindu Samagam (assembly) here on Dec. 15.
"The Supreme Court had also in one of its judgments while defining the word 'Hindu' described it as a way of life," he said adding "the RSS also believes this".
Sudarshan claimed that 125 verses were deleted from the Quran in Egypt as they were thought to be responsible for spreading hatred.
"Everyone is free to practice his
own religion in our country where no one has the right to indulge in conversions,"
the RSS chief said.
