Press Note

Parampoojniya Sh. K.S. Sudershan, Sarsanghchalak of RSS today  lambasted the forces which were opposing the Shauraya Smriti  Samaroh and had launched a disinformation campaign against the  RSS.  He said that they were posing meaningless questions, why was  the function being organized and why now? He said that this  opposition was part of the campaign against the Sangh, its workers  and its sister organization.

As a part of this campaign Hindus were being projected as  draconian, which is opposed to other communities, either it will  not let them live in India or they will have to live as second  class citizens. Their frustration about this function was so  evident that they even demanded ban on this function.

Their opposition to the RSS emanate from their dislike to the word  Hindu.  The English, who ruled this country for over 200 years  that they realised that if they were to rule India they will have  to defame the word Hindu.

In fact the word Hindu represents the unifying and nationalist  forces of the country.  The English felt that India was a country  with so much diversity that they could not conceive it as one  nation.

To stabilize their rule in this country they decided to create a  rootless section in the country which had no pride in its  heritage.  Lord Macalay implemented an education system which in  his words reduced coloured European, who had no love for their  heritage.

One such product of education system started by Lord Macalay was  Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru whom Mahatama Gandhi favoured for Prime  Minister, in place of leader Late Sardar Patel. Mahatama Gandhi  was indeed a great leader of this country but he committed two  grave errors. One was his acceptance of Division of India and  second his decision to make Nehru the PM of India.

He said that he had recently been to Calcutta there also Marxists  and others have been opposing RSS and Hindutva. But the Marxist  who had no shame in abusing the Subash Chandra Bose and were now  seeking pardon and handing apolosize should do an introspection  about their role in independence movement and later on.

Referring to Gujrat he said that the violence that enepted after  the burning of 59 Ramsewaks in Godhra was spontaneous. He termed  the allegation Mr. Modi?s Government was not quick enough in  controlling violence as baseless. In fact the police and law  enforcing agencies were on the job within hour and by midnight  they were in complete control.

He blamed the media for sensational using the whole event. The  overzealous approach of media was responsible for the violence in  Gujrat they preferred to ignore the positive development viz.  Holding of exams, Holi and Mohram celebration and safe return of  Haj Yatris to their homes during this period.  But the Hindutva  forces of the country have always been a victim of this lap sided  propaganda.

Referring to Division of India he said that the violence that  preceded the partition of the country was a calculated more of  Muslim league to terrorize the congress leader into accepting  division of India.  T he frustrated and timid congress leadership  accepted the partition of the country.

By opposing the remembrance of those who fought to protect their  communities, the congress and Marxists are trying to hide their  failures during the partition.  He said that it was the time that  the nation forgot all the myths spread by English people about  India and rededicate ourselves for the glory of our motherland. Earlier Sarsanghchalak presented momentous to Swayamsewaks  including Thakur Ram Singh, Sh. Vishav Nath Ji, Sh. Chaman Lal and  Sh. PremnathJI for their work during the partition. He also  visited various Pandal where more than 500 recepients of momentous  were sitting.

Sh. Jatinder Vir Gupta, North Zone Sanghchalak welcomed all the  Swayamsewaks and the families of those who had laid down their  lives during 1947 holocast. He also released special issue of  Magzine Pathik Sandesh and a book in English ?Partition days The  fiery tales of the RSS.

1947 Shauraya Smriti Samaroh began with lightening of traditinal  lamp by Sarsanghchalak Poojniya K S Sudershan infront of the  Shauraya Smriti Stambh, (a pillar) erected in the memory of those  Sawaymsewaks who made the extreme sacrifice during the holocaust  of 1947. The ?Stambh? bears the pictures of Sh. Madhav Rao Mulye,  who was the Sarkaryavah of RSS during 1947 and organized the  Swayamsewaks to launch defense of their communities and relief,  rehabilitation and supportive services for the millions of Indians  who were uprooted from their homes and rendered without any  social, and economic security.

The Samaroh began today morning in a solemn atmosphere. More than  500 Swayamsewaks from twelve States of the country gathered today  to relive the painful memories of partition of their motherland  and remember the courage and spirit of sacrifice exhibited by them  and their fellow Swayamsewaks while saving the lives and property  of citizens. The onslaught of organized attack on their  communities endangered their life and property and the valiant  resistance put up Sangh Sawaymewaks saved them.

Shri Vishwanathji, Akhil Bhartiya  Dharam Jagran Pramukh of the  RSS who basically hails from Amritsar and was the RSS Pracharak  during those days in Montgommery (now in Pakistan ) narrated the  memories of those days. He recalled the gangs of Muslims from  adjoining villgeas had encircled the Hirapur Mandi where a large  number of Hindus and Sikhs lived. The muslims attacked the mandi  and killed all the young persons. The women of this town were  given the option of either to commit suicid by consuming poison or  by jumping into fire or get killed by their on family members, by  the leaders of their community. Only five persons survived the  attack and were taken to safe places by Swayamsewaks and army that  arrived very late. He was one of those five lucky survivors of the  attack. Shri Chaman Lal who was Prachark in Lahore during 1947 lamented  that Hindus and Sikhs were not prepared for the holocaust. It were  only the Swayamsewaks who started the defense activities and  arranged for the safe transportation of people to Bharat. Even a  Fire Brigade van was purchased to conduct fire-extinguishing  services when houses were set ablaze by attackers in the city.

Earlier all the Swayamsewaks who are to be presented  Smriti Chinhahs  (Mementos) were introduced to Sarsanghchalak.

Sarsanghchalak Shri K S Sudershan while talking to  the gathering of Swayamsewkas also paid homage to those  Swayamsewaks for their valiance and dedication. He said it was  necessary to recall the memories of days of partition and  enlighten our children and youth about the good work of RSS during  this period and after partition of the country. He praised the  good work done by Sh. Chaman Lal who recorded the history of  entire holocaust in a very methodical way for use by coming  generations.
