Lashkar-e-Tayyeba, the Islamic militant outfit waging jihad in Kashmir says the freedom of Kashmir will pave way for establishing Islam in Pakistan.

LeT which considers Pakistan 'a moderate state' asserts that, "We do not believe in revolutionary change in Pakistan rather we want a gradual reform through Dawah." The Chief of Jihadic organisation, LeT, Professor Hafiz Mohammad Saeed in an interview to Radio Sada-e-Hurrityat said, only a free Kashmir will help in establishing Islam in Pakistan.

Pakistan, has as much to fear from the freedom of Kashmir as India, if the words of the LeT are to be taken note off.

The statement by the LeT chief signifies the new stategy of the militant group to take religious fundamentalism to Pakistan. This comes in wake of UN sanctions against Taliban and international pressure on Pakistan to alienate from the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.

Hafiz Mohammad Saeed's statement ahead of the Jihadi Conference scheduled for February 5, throws light on the new agenda about Islamisation of Pakistan by the LeT. According to him the jehadis "had filled all the gaps and reduced mental distances". People belonging to all the schools of thought will deliver speeches on the stage of Lashkar-e-Tayyeba programmes at the Jihad Conference.

He said if such an atmosphere of unity sustains then not only Kashmir would be freed but it would also pave a way for the establishment of Islam in Pakistan.

Even Pakistan would not be in a position to rein in the jihadis as is widely percieved by India and international community, he says. "Pakistan cannot restrict Jihad even if it so desires", asserts Hafiz Mohammad Saeed.

The Mujahideen and Kashmiri political leadership is united on the issue of jihad and they reject all peace initiatives. "No American agenda or Dixon Plan on Kashmir Issue would succeed. All these plans are just Red- tapism," says Hafiz Mohammad.

At the jehadi conference, LeT is inviting leaders of all the seperatist forces associated with Kashmir valley and will provide them a platform to raise their views. During the conference the organisation will also focus on working out a common strategy for intensifying struggle in Kashmir, says Lashkar's website.
