Dear friends,
As I promised earlier in the February issue, I am giving some more startling truths about India. These facts not only remind us of our past glory but inspire us to rise again as a great nation with sheer determination to help underprivileged sections of our society and to educate illiterate masses of villages and forests i.e. Vanvasis. Our devotion and dedication for the cause would bring changes and we could once again be an ever shining and inspiring country setting a bright path for the rest of the world to follow.
So here are The Facts about India.
These facts were recently published
in a German Magazine which deals with world history. How about passing
these informations onto as many people as you can.
Afterall ... ITS A MATTER OF PRIDE!!!

Indigenous Faith and Cultures is our Identity
Tani Society of Arunachal Pradesh - The Tani Group of people of Arunachal Pradesh held its Conference for the preservation of indigenous faith and culture on the 27th and 28th of December, 1999. It invited leading people from different communities of the States of N-E. India to the conference.
In the Conference a new Society named as “Preservation of Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh” was formed that included all communities of Arunachal Pradesh. The Tani people surely deserves to be congratulated by all for bringing all the communities of the State under one umbrella. It is bound to bring unity and brotherhood among those communities as well as give strength to the Society. We wish others in India will follow the exemplary example set by the Tani people towards national integrity of people in India.
Seng Khasi Celebrated 100th Anniversary
Sengh Khasi Organisation - The organisation named “SENG KHASI” was established on 23rd November, 1899 by the Khasi Tribals of Khasi Hills District (now in Meghalaya State) who profess the indigenous faith of their ancestors. Its Headquarters is at Mawkhar, Shillong. Their religion is called “Niam Khasi”. The Seng Khasi celebrated its Centenary of existence on the 23rd November 1999 with much jubilation holding a daylong programme. About 70% of the Khasis are said to be Christians now. Unless the Seng Khasis make serious efforts in checking conversion of Khasis to Christian Faith there is likelihood of dwindling further of its number of adherents.
Sein Raij Organisation - The Sein Raij organisation was set up at Jowai in 1948 by the Jaintias who profess the indigenous faith of their forefathers. Their Headquarters is at Jowai. The Jaintias are of Jaintia Hills District (now in Meghalaya State). Their religion is called “Niamtre”. It is said that the Jaintias are still by about 70% of Niamtre Religion. Sein Raij has already crossed its Golden Jubilee Year of existence.

Training Makes The Difference
Ekal Vidyalaya Yojana (One Teacher School Scheme) is a well-organised infrastructure in which training of the karyakarta is very significant,
Hence, there is a complete system to train Acharyas (Teachers) Upsanch Pramukhs (organiser over each 10 OTSs) Sanch Pramukhs (supervisors over every 30 OTSs) Paryavekshak (supervisor over every 90 OTSs) Yojana Pramukh (Planners over every Anchal of 270 OTSs), Trainers and other whole timers, from time to time, spreading throughout the year.
The system has been developed on the basis of input given by our field workers who are really working at grassroot level and knowing the ground realities better than anyone else.
There is tremendous emphasis on Training at every level to check, help, guide, supervise and mobilize the smooth functioning of the OTSs. It is a continuous process. The training courses are designed to fulfill the requirements of the various responsibilities our Karyakartas are assigned to do.
There are four main kinds of Vargas
(training course camps). In the year 99-2000 several training courses were
conducted, such as
