Congress leader in the Lok Sabha Sharad Pawar on Saturday said that
the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) felt that the organisation
should not do anything which will benefit the Bharatiya Janata
Party (BJP).
He said that party president Sitaram Kesri had convened a CPP
meeting on Tuesday to finalise the party's strategy on the BJP
motion against the Uttar Pradesh governor.
Mr Pawar said that the statement on the U.P. situation made by
Union home minister Indrajit Gupta in Parliament had put the
government in a tight spot. However, the UP governor's reaction to
Mr Gupta's observations too was not proper, he added.
The Congress members, Mr Pawar said, will present their views on
the U.P. crisis in the house and put forward their demands to
improve the situation in the state.
