Sarkaryavah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Shri H.V. Seshadri
points out that all the prominent acharyas and munis of the Jam
community have clearly said that the Jains are inseparable part of
the Hindu society. They have gone to the extent of saying that one
that is not Hindu cannot be a Jain. Shri Seshadri told Organiser
that religious and cultural sects, born in Bharat are all Hindu.
He questioned the right of Minority Commission to declare rains a
minority. No commission has any right to break the Hindu society,
he said.
Asked about the chairman of the Minority Commission Dr Tahir
Mahmood's claim that the Commission took the decision on the basis
of various letters written to the Commission by persons belonging
to the Jain community, Shri Seshadri said that thousands of letters
could be written to the Commission by Jains declaring that they are
Hindu. Can it declare the commission Hindu? Before taking such a
stupid decision, did the Commission seek views of the entire Jain
community, he asked. "No, certainly not. A few person's views
cannot represent the entire community. It is totally unfair. The
Commission has no right to declare anyone a minority or a majority.
Dr Ambedkar clearly mentioned in the Constitution and in the Hindu
Code Bill that except Muslims Christians, Jews and Parsis all the
people of the country are Hindu" he Pointed Out.
Commenting on Dr. Tahir Mahmood's claim that there are some special
provisions for Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists in the Constitution and
that when Sikhs and Buddhists have already been declared a minority
community why it is now denied to Jains, Shri Seshadri wanted to
know: Who demanded this status from the Commission. The prominent
acharyas of the Jain community like Acharya Tulsi, have said that
Jains are Hindu. We want to know with whom the Commission
discussed the matter? In fact, the main reason for such demands is
that there are some special provisions for more facilities for the
minority. And to enjoy those benefits a few people demand the
minority status. It is very unfortunate that despite two verdicts
of the Supreme Court, some people did not understand the meaning of
Hindu."
Shri Seshadri further said: "The Hindu society is the backbone of
this nation. The integrity and unity of the nation is safe as long
as the Hindu society is united and strong. Our endeavour should be
to make the society and the nation strong and united. No
government has any right to break it.
