The recent cyclone that swept through Andhra Pradesh caused immense
damage to life and property running into several crores of rupees.
While many governmental organisations and voluntary agencies delved
into the relief operations, Jana Sankshema Samiti (JSS) was the
first one to provide quick relief to the needy with all promptness.

Relief work undertaken by them at Kona Seema, Cheyyeru,
Kanakalapeta (in Yanam), Poda goltapalli, Rajahmundry and Penumalli
received wide appreciation from the local population. After
rendering emergency help like distribution of food packets,
medicines; utensils and cloths, they have undertaken relief work of
a permanent nature like construction of pucca houses supply of
coconut saplings, fishing nets and handlooms. While they have
started construction work for building about 267 houses in all
these places, they have also undertaken the renovation work of
rebuilding they community hall of Vivekananda Maharogi Arogya
Kendra. The beneficiaries include 4 Muslims and one Christian
family.

The dedicated work of JSS is in full swing in Andhra Pradesh.
