"If my feeble voice can reach Lord Mountbatten, I would request him to be just and
impartial and not to be caught, in the snare spread for him in the; Frontier,"
said Khan Abdut Ghaffar Khan while addressing a public meeting at Shabkadar
yesterday.

Badshah Khan said he was impressed by the Viceroy, when lie met him in Delhi. "I
told him that I was straightforward to which he replied he was a soldier and

appreciated a straightforward talk. It does not appear fair to me that a movement
purely communal in origin should be given a political colour. If newspaper
reports are to be believed, I am afraid he is treading the same path regarding the
Frontier which the Governor wanted him to follow. I had warned him during the
meeting in Delhi in the presence of Mahatma Gandhi that he, on behalf of the
Labour Government should be sincere in his efforts to transfer power.

"But the British officials in the Frontier indulged in party politics because they
wanted to hang on here at all costs, Lord Mountbatten can succeed in the great
mission for which he was sent out to India only if he remains impartial and above
party politics."
