City BJP on Tuesday charged the Congress-NCP government in Maharashtra with "encouraging the scourge of terrorism" by helping the family of a "terrorist." Reacting to reports of NCP leader Vasant Davkhare donating Rs one lakh to the family of Ishrat Jehan Sheikh, an alleged Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist who was killed in an encounter in Gujarat, city BJP chief Mayaben Kodnani said her party condemns such an act of the NCP leader, who had been the deputy speaker in Maharashtra Legislative Council.
Ishrat's killing had recently stirred a controversy and police's role had come under cloud after questions were raised about her terrorist links.
