When there are many laws in force, the state Government is intending to take over the temples and Gurudwaras of Hindus, Sikhs, and Jain religion by passing proposed Governmentization of temples Act and Anti-Superstition Law. In protest of this move, all religions must come together and fight together. This opinion was expressed in the Dharma Jagriti meeting yesterday (Saturday).
This Dharma Jagriti meeting was organized under the aegis of Hindu Janjagriti Samiti. Girish Bapat, MLA presided over the meeting. Dy leader MLA of Shivsena Arvind Sawant, Representative of Jain religion Munishri Jagatshekhar Maharaj, Representative of Sikh religion, Kuljitsingh Chaudhary, Executive Officer of Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj Smriti Samiti, Milind Ekbote, Researcher of Daasbodh Sunil Chincholakar and Durgesh Samant of the Samiti were present. Every citizen has been given the right to keep his own property safe by the Constitution of India and similarly, the temples and Gurudwaras of every religion are the property of the respective religions and these laws must be opposed to. If these temples are creating good feelings in the man's mind, should it be called superstition?
The real grief is that all Hindus have be gathered with efforts. When first the Anti-superstition bill was brought in, it was opposed by many and hence it was presented under another name of Anti-Magic/Sorcery bill. But the magic - spirit of the bill was retained and hence all people should come together and oppose it tooth and nail forgetting all castes and creeds.
Kuljeet Chaudhary said that every religion has contributed towards the achievement of freedom. We all want to oppose these bills but we will have to be alert and keep our unit permanent.
The scholar on Muslim and Christian religions, G. Asnani said that "Non-violence is the best religion" (Ahimsa paramodharmah) is a wrong principle. You will not be able to live only on the Science of religion. For that you will have to keep the arms with you. Asana was honoured at this time. Dirges Savant and Melinda Keota also spoke.
