Sharpening its attack on Pakistan President Gen Pervez Musharraf, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded that Government should take a tough stand to highlight Islamabad
sponsored terrorism in the country.

Reacting sharply to the killings of Amarnath yatris and in Doda district, party spokesman V K Malhotra said that these incidents has unmasked Gen Musharraf's call for peace.

Mr Malhotra said that Mr Musharraf stands thoroughly exposed. Though during his visit to Rajghat, Mr Musharraf had said that he did not believe in violence and was for peace, these words have proved hollow, Mr Malhotra said. Pakistan's agenda is anti-humanity, he charged.

He said these recent incidents were the worst incidents of cross-border terrorism. The BJP spokesman said that the terrorists were trained and abetted in Pakistan. Documentary proofs to this effect have been shown to them, Mr Malhotra said.

Mr Malhotra said if people sought to raise the issue of violation of human rights regarding these terrorists, then why are they not doing so in the case of the innocent civilians killed by these terrorists in Doda village.

"These terrorists are all foreign mercenaries who are being trained by Pakistan and carrying out attacks on innocent civilians," he said.

On vajpayee's visit to Islamabad, he said "the prime minister has accepted the invitation but there is time and the situation is being looked into. Even the Opposition has not objected to his visit to Islamabad. However, he will consult all opposition leaders once again before deciding on the visit."

On the issue of foreign policy, he said it has always been through consensus between the ruling and Opposition parties.
