The city police has traced the person who had sent an e-mail to many people claiming that the plans were afoot to trigger large scale violence against Muslims in Hyderabad on the lines of Gujrat carnage.
The e-mail, received by several people in Hyderabad over the past few weeks had spread panic and and was brought to the notice of the authorities.
The Hyderabad city police Commissioner M V Krishna Rao, taking note of the concern of the people had handed over the case to Crime Central Station for investigation.The e-mail was sent in the name of Kirpal Singh, purported to be a wine shop owner in Secunderabad. But the police could find no wine shop owner in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad by the name of Kirpal Singh.
The Additional Commissioner of Police Abdul Qayyum Khan said that the investigations revealed that the e-mail was in fact sent by one Mohammed Faseehuddin, who is working as a system administrator in Jeddah. "We have traced the computer from which the e-mail was sent and it belongs to Faseehuddin", Mr Khan said.
The e-mail, quoting an activist
of RSS had warned that Hindu extremists were planning a massacre of Muslims
in certain localities of Hyderabad in the near future. The e-mail had urged
the Muslims of localities like AC Guards and Khairatabad to remain alert.
