Fresh violence erupts in NC Hills

One Dimasa woman was burnt to death while 23 dwelling houses and a school building set ablaze by suspected Hmar miscreants in two separate incidents in violence-hit North Cachar hill district during the last 24 hours.

Police sources in Haflong informed that miscreants attacked a Dimasa and Bihari inhabited Barelangdisa village at Santilla under Haflong Police Station and set fire to 23 dwelling houses in order to scare away the villagers. A Dimasa woman died of the burn injuries in the incident. In another incident at  Mailongdisa under Harangajao police station, two houses belonging to Dimasa and Bihari communities and a school building were burnt down by miscreants.
