DMK President M Karunanidhi on Tuesday charged the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu with "propagating" Hindutva with "more vigour" than even the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Addressing a public meeting here, he said he was not opposed to AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa propagating hindutva principles but was "only concerned about her lack of concern for other religions".
It was a sad thing to note that a Dravidian party, bearing the name of DMK founder late C N Annadurai, was propagating "communalism", he said, adding that the DMK would never adopt such a course.
Jayalalithaa had recently supported the construction of a Ram temple at Ayodhya and a common civil code.
Karunanidhi said his party was totally
committed to secularism and would safeguard the interests of minorities.
