The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has decided to take legal action including a criminal one against Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh . The RSS is accepting his challenge .
Addressing a Press Conference here today thee RSS Spokesman RamMadhav made this announcement. He said singh was trying to extricate himself from his difficulties by changing his original statement about the RSS involvement. While Singh originally said it was the RSS which was behind the Mahtma Gandhi murder , later he changed the statement to say that it was the RSS ideology that was responsible for the murder.
Madhav challenged Arjun Singh to stand by his original statement. Quoting references from the Justice Kapur Commission report, the autobiography of veteran congress Chief Minsiter D.P Mishra and a letter by Sardar Patel to then Prime Minister Nehru, the RSS Spokesman pointed out that none of them held the RSS responsible for the murder. But people like Arjun Singh continued to use Gandhi ji for their political motives, he added.
Rammadhav disclosed that singh had traveled to Allahabad from Delhi at the time of tendering his resignation from the government of P.V Narasimha Rao . "Singh went to Allahabad first to call on a top RSS leader".
Moreover, Singh's brother, Rana Bahadur Singh was a district RSS chief many decades ago. Similarly, Arjun Singh himself had invited a senior RSS functionary to appear on his behalf in an election petition in 1957. The functionary was called all the way from Uttar Pradesh." Did not Arjun Singh feel that the RSS ideology was full of hatred and violence at that time?" Madhav added.
Ram Madhav said then congress president Sitaram Kesari, too had leveled baseless allegations against RSS. But Kesari withdrew the charges after receiving a legal notice. A few months ago a leading English daily published from the capital on receiving a legal notice from RSS published an unconditional apology on its front page for defaming the RSS in the same context in of its Editorials.
Madhav ridiculed Arjun Singh's efforts
to detoxify school text books and said it was unfair to tamper with school
curricula. About the criticism that the education ministers of five BJP
ruled states had behaved undemocratic manner by boycotting the meeting
convened by Singh about School text books, Ram madhav said staging a walk
out was not undemocratic. He recalled similar event when Leftist walked
out of a meeting where Saraswati Vandana was sung. Hence, Stalinist- Leftists
had no right to teach democracy to others.
