The Hindu Yuba-Chatra Parishad, Asom, has condemned the BJP's proposed plan of trishul distribution in Assam on the occasion of Lachit Divas on November 24, while at the same time accusing several Congress ministers in the State for inspiring the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind's agenda in Assam.

Addressing a press conference here today, the Hindu Yuva-Chatra Parishad's president Shiva Nath Sarma and general secretary Brajen Kakati said that the State is now being ruled by the Jamiat-Ulema-e-Hind, instead of the Congress. According to them, many ministers of the State belong to the Jamiat which keeps on pressuring the Government to push its agenda. The Jamiat in Assam never gives any comment or statement regarding the ISI or the Muslim militant groups' activities, they said.

Representatives of the organization presented a memorandum before CP Thakur in New Delhi on August 23 demanding concrete steps to stop insurgent activities of about 20-22, Muslim militant groups operating in Assam with the help of ISI. On the other hand, the RSS and BJP sponsored "Hindutva policy" will prove dangerous in Assam, they added.
