Osama bin Laden is directly financing over 400 madaris in Bangladesh which are training more than 25,000 people to become part of suicide squads, says former Lok Sabha Speaker P.A. Sangma.
The most alarming fact is that a large number of youth from Assam and other northeastern states have also joined them.
Disclosing this in his inaugural speech to the North East People's Forum, Mr P.A. Sangma, who is also the vice-chairman of the Parliamentarians' Committee of Southeast Asian Countries, said: "I am saying this with full authority as it was informed to me by the chairman of the Parliamentarians Committee of South East Asian Countries, Professor Kabir Choudhury who is from Bangladesh."
Justifying the formation of Northeast People's Forum, he said: "We can not remain a silent spectators to the political development in the neighbouring countries."
He added, "we are not aware how minorities are being prosecuted in Bangladesh."
Regretting the prevailing scenario in Bangladesh, Mr Sangma said that in last two years more than 500 non-government organisations have surfaced in Bangladesh, which are preaching fundamentalism.
"We should not forget the remark of then Pakistan's Prime Minister Bhutto who at the time of Bangladesh's liberation had said that war has just begun, it will continue for next 100 years," the former Lok Sabha Speaker said while clarifying that its not Bangladesh but Pakistan which is using its territory to create unrest in India.
Mr Sangma also took strong note
of Bhutan's King's statement at New Delhi that he will call the militant
leaders carrying out anti-India activities from Bhutan for talks. "This
is humiliating for us if Bhutan can dare to solve our problems," Mr Sangma
said adding that such remarks give feeling among the people as if India
is not at all capable of handling its internal problem also.
