The ilaqa Magistrate Seema Singhal today ordered Maheshnagar police to register and investigate into the Avdena abduction case and report. The order further read that the main accused Zakir Hussain, Punjab Wakf Board CEO Shahid Ali, Mohammed Sardar Vani, Zamil Hussain and Maulvi Abdul Qaoom should be booked for conspiring in the abduction of Avedna under different sections of IPC. The order was given on the complaint of Anu Sharma, brother of Avedna, moved by the counsel Devinder Bansal.

The counsel alleged that all the five alleged accused had committed offences of cheating, forgery, sedition and promoting communal hatred under different section of IPC.

The counsel further alleged that the sister of complainant, Avedna, was married on July 13 in presence of hundreds of people as per Hindu rites at Delhi. Zakir, he alleged, had conspired to kidnap Avedna on July 15 when she was going to Vaishno Devi with her husband. When the family of the complainant approached the CEO and others, they allegedly indulged in seditious, maligning and insulting talks.

It was alleged that on May 30 last, the alleged accused forged an affidavit of Avedna in which she had stated to have embraced Islam. The affidavit was shown to have been attested by a Delhi-based magistrate. It was further alleged that the affidavit form was purchased under fake name, address and fictitious entries were made in the register of stamp vendor. Similarly, he alleged that the nikah-nama was also fabricated in which all the accused were shown as witnesses. Meanwhile, the Additional Sessions Judge B.M. Bedi today extended the date of the anticipatory bail.
