Congress has always demoralised the Indian soldiers and always tried to break the confidence and conviction of our security forces who have sacrificed their lives for the country", said Union Defence Minister George Fernandes in Karnal on Thursday.
Mr Fernandes was speaking in a public Rally organised to mark the 90th birthday of Chaudhury Devi Lal in Karnal, Haryana. He again criticised the Congress and said that "When our soldiers were fighting at the border and sacrificing their lives during Kargil War, Congress were saying that at the border Pakistani army has upper hand". He also made a mention about the Coffin Deal he said that "by this Congress is only trying to break the trust of our Army". Addressing the rally, he lauded the contribution of the soldiers of Haryana and said, "As compared to any other State, a large number of soldiers hailing from Haryana sacrificed their lives to safeguard the unity and integrity of the nation."Lashing out against the Congress policy he said, "the Congress has always tried to destabilise the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government and the recent No-Confidence Motion was an attempt in that direction."
Paying rich tribute to Devi Lal , he described him as a messiah of the farming community.
Speaking on the occasion Union Minister of State for Home I D Swami said, "India will be a developed country by 2020 and Haryana will be in the map of the country. "
He further said that, "we will have
to move together to make the country developed and to realize the dream
of Devi Lal to make the State number one."
