JABAL-US-SARAJ, Afghanistan, Oct 26, 2001 (Kyodo) - Sixty Pakistani soldiers were killed and 70 others injured in Kabul by Thursday's U.S. air strikes in Afghanistan, the anti-Taliban Northern Alliance's commander said Friday.

The commander said he received the information from the alliance's operatives in the Afghan capital.

It was not immediately known whether the casualties were regular soldiers or civilian fighters.

Northern Alliance military officers, citing field reports, said many foreign soldiers, including Pakistanis, Arabs, and Chechens, are fighting on the Taliban side.
