The School Education department
has issued notices to all schools which closed on Thursday, as part of
the agitation by minority groups against the Prohibition of Forcible Conversion
of Religion Ordinance.
In their show cause notices issued
on Friday, the Directors of the School Education, Matriculation and Anglo
Indian Schools asked the institutions to respond, within a week, why they
closed the institutions without government approval.
The Government had already warned
the minority-run institutions of grant cut and other measures, if they
went ahead with the closure.
