"They never fail who die in a great cause" - Lord Byron
As per the information received by the home-based Oking Publicity and
Information Service (OPIS), the recently created sub-branch of the GPRN's
Ministry of the Information and Publicity (which is currently devoted to
dissemination of Naga national issues around the globe in collaboration
with substantive supporters from countries of Europe, North America,
Australia, South and Southeast Asia), the Naga freedom defenders stationed
abroad and other well-wishers solemnly observed the 50th anniversary of
independence on the 14th August 1997 in many places.
The Golden Jubilee celebration of Naga independence was an occasion of
prayer and thanks giving to the heavenly father for the ceaseless care and
love bestowed upon the Naga people in the face of unprecedented persecution
and genocide perpetrated by the hindu aggressors and their mercenaries and
puppets. It indeed was a day that brought to our collective national memory
the martyrdom of more than two lakh Nagas who fearlessly laid down their
lives for the redemptions of the People's Republic of Nagaland (As one of
the direct outcomes of the MIP's endeavour, many televisions of the world,
i.e., the Pakistan TV, the Star News, etc. announced on the 5th and 6th
September 1997 that a leading Republican Congressman called for reduction
of US development aid to India in condemnation of the "cold-blooded murder
of over two lakh christians in Nagaland, two and a half lakh sikhs in
Punjab, and fifty-three thousand muslims in Kashmir. He also accused
Hindustan as one of the worst human rights violators in the world.) The
Rainbow and Star flag of the Naga nation continues to flutter in the air in
proud commemoration of the indomitable courage and sacrifices of the Naga
martyrs Surely they have conquered death by achieving immortality in the
national life of the Nagas. Even as we deeply charish the greatness of
sacrifice and vision of our martyred heroes and heroines, let us all take a
fresh vow to build a happy and free Naga nation as dreamt by them. We pray
to the most merciful Jehovah for the salvation and peace of their glorious
souls Amen.
In this connection, this is to inform all the interested persons that the
MIP has released a book for general consumption. This book, though of
elementary value and scholarship, in very special as it is dedicated to out
most beloved brothers and sisters who gave their lives for generations of
Nagas to come.
Secondly, it is essential that we guard ourselves from pretenders who are
busy prostituting Naga sovereignty to forces animical to our nation. These
puppets and willy communalists are scheming to launch a systematic coup the
object of which is to turn the wheels of Naga history backward. We has
witnessed not long ago how these deceivers sent fellow conspirators to
Geneva for yet another attempt to confuse the Naga people and their friends
around the world. However, like the fiasco of the Atlanta conspiracy their
mission of deception backfired and these crestfallen traitors had to go
back to their pay masters with beeps of insults and humilisation. One of
the things they were made to understand was that there is no need of
cease-fire between India and her bedfellows. Also they were told by the
same friends of the Naga people not to unnecessarily hamper the ongoing
process of political dialogues between India and the NSCN which have been
actively engaged in abysmal hostilities for many years.
Lastly, the civil administrators and Naga Army personnel of the GPRN's.
Also (Foreign) Command, who are presently stationed at eight different
garrisons in friendly foreign countries, do solicit the good wishes and
prayer of the Naga people."
