Corporate India's outspoken leader and Bombay Club mastermind Rahul Bajaj thinks it's time now for all good men to come to the aid of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Mr Bajaj, who heads the Rs 3,000-crore plus Bajaj Auto and is among the founders of the Confederation of Indian Industry, cast his ballot for the saffron brigade in popular television talk show 'Ru-ba-ru' slotted for telecast on EL-TV this Sunday.
Mr Bajaj's verdict: BJP governments in all states are doing an excellent job. Stressing the need for a single party government at the Centre rather than a 14-party coalition. He said he was not averse to the idea of the BJP forming the next government. "The BJP may be an untouchable for others, but not for people like us. Any stable government of a single party is always better than a coalition of 14 parties. In Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena-BJP government is doing a good job because of chief minister Manoh
r Joshi," Mr Bajaj said.
Mr Bajaj also confirmed what everybody outside the United Front claimed to know: Prime Minister I K Gujral was averse to recommending President's rule m Uttar Pradesh. He said the prime minister told him over lunch that he never wanted to recommend President's rule in UP as this was unconstitutional
