Praveen Togadia, in the city for Sadhvi Rithambara’s Bhagwat Saptah,  spoke to the press at Bangurnagar, Goregaon (W).

“In Maharashtra, dogs have a right to bark, donkeys have a right to bray and mice to squeal; but a Hindu it seems doesn’t have the right to speak. The government is trying to snatch away the right to speak in the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Is this state ruled by Musharraf, is it ruled by Pakistan?,” he asked.

Togadia said that he had given many speeches in at least 14 Congress- ruled states in the last four years like Chandrapur and Ratnagiri. But nowhere did riots start after his speech. His last big meeting, he said, was held in Chikmanglur.

“Why is there a Pakistan and Italy ka tala (lock) on my freedom of speech? Is the key of the lock in Rome or Rawalpindi?” he asked. The government’s restriction on freedom of speech, he said, was owing to Sonia’s fascist tendencies. “If Vilasrao Deshmukh were to take up the Hindutva cause, I am ready to work under him,” Togadia claimed.

When questioned about Bal Thackeray’s suicide squad, Togadia said he is a follower of Bal Thackeray and is ready to do whatever he says.
