For the past 3 days, Sri Jayendrar has not been given his  medications. There are fears that he may be killed in Velur prison  itself. Therefore, the President should intervene to protect his  life requests Supreme Court Senior Advocate MN Krishnamani. In a  telegram to the President.

He sent it on Sunday evening with the permission of the Sankara  Matam. [Sri] Jayendrar is not being treated well in prison. He is  not being given his medications properly. He has glaucoma and  Diabetes. Dr. Badhrinath, an eminent ophthalmologist has prescribed  him medications for glaucoma. Those medications are not being given.

His private physician, Dr. Ramachandran is not being allowed to take  his Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar monitors to the prison. Dr.  Ramachandran says Sri Jayendrar is very weak.

"Several devotees have conveyed to me on the telephone their fears  that Sri Jayendrar may be given drugs or slow-acting poison, [says  the Supreme Court Advocate]. SP Premkumar, who is investigating the  case compelled Sri Jayendrar to drink milk he brought to him. It is  feared he may have mixed drugs in it.

For the past two days, his lawyer Krishnaswamy has not been allowed  to meet him.

For the past 25 years, Sri Jayendrar is a diabetic. As such, if he  is given sedatives or denied medications, he is likely to go into a  coma.

[It is feared that] Since they don't have evidence to finish this  case, there is a concerted effort to cause his health to  deteriorate. Ultimately, this may be falsely presented as if he  committed suicide.

Prem Kumar is a dangerous man. He has been convicted in two cases  before this. In a previous case, the High Court said he tortured a  person in his custody to give false evidence. It is notable that the  Madras High Court has ordered an investigation into this matter.

The President should intervene immediately to ensure Sri Jayendrar's  safety."
