Hindu literary evidence has established that the antiquity of the belief in Shri Rama to be more than thousands of years, and that too on a continuous basis. This make the belief to be based on history, and not myth. Many events in different parts of the world have been accepted as facts on the basis of traditions (parampara), many of which do not go as far back as the belief in Shri Rama.
