Secularism is now the national agenda, declared former
Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee while praising
Congress spokesman V N Gadgil for tellin Congressmen to
re-explore the party Is concept of secularism.
"Jadoo voh hain, jo sarpar chadhe, "Vajpayee said
reacting to a notion that he failed to convince the
Parliament on BJP's secular image during the debate on
vote of confidence motion.
"Of all people Gadgil wants a debate on secularism,"
Vajpayee said, adding, "Gadgil is a new convert."
Recently, the AICC spokesman had assailed the Congress
leadership stating that the party should re-examine its
version of secularism as it was rejected by both, Hitidus
and Muslims in the recent parliamentary polls.
Gadgil had said that BJP had emerged as a formidable
force and an alternative party in the absence of any
emotional 'waves' dominating the electoral scene.
