Q: How long do you think the Congress would support the
United Front government?
A: Two years, at least. It will take that much time for the
Congress to regroup. And I think in the future there will be a
polarisation of political foces of the kind that exists in MP.
Like-minded parties would be on one side and the BJP on
the other.

Q: Two years will also give time to Deve Gowda to entrench
himself.
A: What else can be done at the moment?

Q: Try to unite all factions of the Congress for instance?
A: (Remains thoughtful for a moment.) Would you believe it,
Chandrashekar and V P Singh have told me separtely: "The
ex-Congressmen should be brought together. Please do
something."
