SIR, The Muslim regime of Iran put into effect the new
Islamic punishment bill on July, 9. The bill wihich was
given to the Iranian press by Mullah Mohammad Yazde, the
head of the judicial power, defined death penalty for
insulting Mullah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic
regime, and his successor, Mullah Ali Khomenei, and for
committing abdultery, 10 years imprisonment for those who
form a group against the Islamic regime in and out of
Iran, 10 days to two months imprisonment and 74 lashes
for women who do not observe Islamic veil properly and
six months imprisonment for those who prepare and consume
alcoholic drinks.

This bill has created chaos among the people and jurists
and it will only lead to more strangulation and
suppression of the Iranian people. Since the offences
have not been explained properly, it will lead to the
punishment of people under baseless pretexts.

We, the members and supporters of the National Movement
of the Iranian Resistance (Namir), strongly protest such
barbaric and inhuman laws.
