The Vishwa Hindu Parishad plans to launch an elaborate campaign to check
conversion of Hindus into Christians and Muslims and bring back those already
converted into the fold of Hinduism.
For the purpose, the VHP will raise a force of 10,000 Hindu missionaries within
the next three years. They will be trained at special camps to be organised in
Ayodhya. The training for the first batch of 300 missionaries will begin in July
this year.
"We will concentrate in north-eastern states and other tribal areas where maximum
conversion take place. By next three years, we aim to declare Banswara (in
Rajasthan) as a Christian-free town," VHP general secretary Acharya Giriraj
Kishore told reporters on Saturday. He informed that in United Kingdom, students
in five schools will be taught about Hinduism, "thanks to the efforts of the VHP
and the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh."
The VHP leader said his organisation was also determined to liberate the Kashi and
Mathura temples, and criticised Congress leader Sharad Pawar for saying that the
VHP had collected donations worth crores from Hindus all over the world for
funding its movement.
"If Mr Pawar has the courage, he should prove it, or apologise for the statement
he made in Parliament. Political leaders like him and Muslim leaders always make
an issue out of the demolition of Babri Masjid. Even Sonia Gandhi is talking
about it. Why should she? She is an Italian, after all," the Acharya said.
"They all should know that Lord Ram's idol was installed there on court's order in
1949. And no force on earth can prevent us from worshipping the idol and the
construction of a grand Ram temple on the site," he said.
The Acharya criticised the Karnataka government for allowing the Primate Research
Laboratory in Bangalore to export monkeys for the purpose of medical research.
"It shameful to send animals for earning money. This is cruelty to the animals and
should be stopped immediately," he said.
