Recently ousted administrative officer of the Allahabad
Agriculture Institute (AAI) has demanded a high level probe
against forcible conversion to Christianity that is being
practised by the management of the institute.
Rakesh Bajpai, the officer, has threatened to immolate himself
before Vidhan Bhawan in the state capital on December 23 against
the alleged and forcible pressure of conversion.
"The Allahabad Agriculture Institute has become on a centre for
proselytisation where campaign for converting Hindus, Muslims,
Buddhists and Sikhs in going on with zest," he alleged.
He further alleged that his original testimonials have been
destroyed by the management to ruin his career.
When contacted, the AAI management refused to comment on the
issue.
Several FIRs have been lodged against the AAI directors in many
districts "but the police has not taken any action as the
government does not want to any the Christian community," Bajpai
said.
"A class four employee, Satyendra Singh, was unable to face
pressure of conversion. He left the job. Later, due to poverty he
became a Christian and was baptised as Satyendra Masif," alleged
Bajpai in a written complaint to the states' agriculture
production commissioner.
"I and a few officers are the only among 30 officers who angrily
refused to embrace Christianity," says Bajpai.
It may be recalled that on December 4 Christians throughout the
state protested against increasing atrocities on their community.
Similar complains of forcible conversion have been reported in
Gorukhpur, Azangarh Jhansi, Jaunpur and Ballia district recently.
