Pictures of Hindu gods and goddesses
have been pasted on lids of toilet seats in the United States to deliberately
hurt the religious feelings of Indians, the Rajya Sabha was informed Tuesday.
Raising the issue through special
mention, Vijaya Singh Yadav (Rashtriya Janata Dal) said while India was
keen on improving relations with the US a concerted bid was being made
in that country to hurt the feelings of Indians by pasting pictures of
Indian gods on the lids of toilet seats.
He demanded that the prime minister
have a dialogue with the US government to get the practice banned and to
take legal action against the erring persons.
