Peeved over the arrest of his associates
by Delhi Police, international terrorist Osama bin Laden has asked his
groups to carry out blasts at all the US installations in India, according
to a message received from the US Central Intelligence Agency.
The international terrorist was
"incensed over the arrest" and wanted that some blasts be carried out at
the installations of the United States, official sources said here.
The message was passed on to Delhi
Police for beefing up security at all the US installations in the capital,
besides other states where any American installations were located, the
sources said.
Intelligence agencies have been
monitoring certain telephone numbers of suspected associates of Al-Qida,
the group headed by Saudi-billionaire-turned-militant Bin Laden, the sources
said.
They said it was likely that "some
members of Al-Qida might have slipped into the country to spread terror,
especially in the event of forthcoming visit of Pakistani President Pervez
Musharraf."
The sources said surveillance had
been mounted at all suspected militant-infested areas to "nip the evil
in bud".
Meanwhile, in the case of conspiracy
to carry out blast at the US mission here, hatched allegedly at the behest
of Bin Laden, police is on a look out for an Iranian national, who was
to provide technical know-how about the explosive material to Sudanese
national Abdel Raouf Hawash, arrested by the Delhi Police.
They said police teams had fanned
out to various cities to nab the Iranian national.
With the arrest of Mohammed Arshad
alias Ladoo from Naya Tola near Patna in Bihar on Monday evening, the number
of the persons picked up in this connection rose to four.
Delhi Police arrested four persons,
including a Sudanese national Abdel Raouf Hawash and his Indian accomplices
Shameem Sarvar, a religious teacher here, Abbas, a car mechanic in Udaipur
and Mohammed Arshad in Patna.
Arshad had been contacted by the
trio to park the explosive-laden car outside the American mission after
which he was to be settled abroad and promised a handsome amount of money,
police officials said.
Police was also confirming the links
provided by certain agencies about an Yemeni national, who had contacted
Hawash in October last year for this purpose.
The sources said that police was
also making attempt to trace two girls, allegedly hired by Hawash to accompany
the explosive-laden car at the US mission here. (PTI)
