The National general secretary
of the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), Safdar Nagori, has alleged
that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was "a major threat to the unity
and integrity of the country" Addressing a press conference here at a hotel
this afternoon, the national leader of this pan-Islamic youth organisation
said that there was an urgent need to put the RSS and its Parivar in check.
"If the Sangh Parivar is not checked, there would be anarchy all around
the country." Referring to the VHP national meeting in Bhopal regarding
construction of Ram temple, he said that the Sangh Parivar was again planning
to 'shed blood' in the country "They should be stopped".
Nagori, a mechanical engineer by
profession who is doing a PhD in Mass Communication, deplored that CM Digvijay
Singh was implementing the agenda of the RSS. He said that he failed to
understand how and why the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh should have
faith in the Sangh Parivar. After the Babri demolition, he still believed
that the Sangh Parivar would not indulge in such activities. "Digvijay
Singh shares platform with the former chief of the RSS, Sudarshan. In fact,
the Chief Minister is working on the Sangh's agenda." Nagori said, "It
hurts when the State Government equates SIMI with the Bajrang Dal. The
Chief Minister should not indulge in this balancing act, it is really painful."
Though he condemned the Pakistan's secret agency ISI, he refused to criticise
Bin Laden, the controversial Islamic leader allegedly financing the Afghanistan
terrorists. "Laden has only been accused by America, the international
moral police, and unless anything is proved against Laden, I would not
comment."
